Pictures from the July 5th 2024 FLAVORS of FLORIDA culinary series featuring the Morimoto Asia restaurant. A sample salad and an orange flavored mocktail were provided for reserved guests after a demonstration on making the featured salad and mocktail. Also a goody bag was provided by Kroger containing oranges, chap stick, wet wipes, and a chip clip. The emc providing the introductions thanked the Mickey's Fanatics for attending.
July 12th 2024 Flavors of Florida attended by Mickey's Fanatics. Wolfgang Puck restaurant presented. The ever famous Matt Simon, VP Disney Springs attended and greeted the Mickey's Fanatics!

July 25th 2024 Flavors of Florida at the open pavilion between the Hangar Bar and the Boathouse. Chefs Gary and chef Georg made delicious meals the we all got a taste of them - absolutely great! We were given our VIP credentials, a cotton backpack with clementines, water, fan chap stick and other stuff. As Mickey’s “Fan”atics, members, we had front row seats and met with the chefs after making the food dishes. Chef Gary works at The Hangar Bar and Chef Georg is Executive chef over all the restaurants. Great time even though it was hot!

Marjorie lived in Orlando and worked for Disney for many years at Hollywood Studios on the Great Movie Ride and at Disney special activities where she would host celebrities on behalf of Disney. Her Dad, Wally, worked construction at Disney and had many great stories.
Marjorie currently works at adult Disney….. The Villages ! In sales for the properties of the Villages !

1). There are approximately 100 chocolate chips on each cookie!
2).The cookies should be eaten at room temperature. (Do not microwave.)
3). A chandelier used in one of Steve Lewis’s shops was from the Haunted Mansion.
4). All of the books in the shop are true Victorian books.
5). Gideon’s has received an International Design Award for his shops.
The Key Lime cookie was fabulous!

Our October club meeting speaker will be Jerry Smithson who will talk to us about the Carolwood East Barn museum and its connection to Disney.
The museum is located in Crews Lake Wilderness Park, about 1.5 hours from The Villages. The park covers 113 acres along the shore of Crews Lake. It includes hiking trails, paved bike trail, playground, athletic fields and the 7+1⁄2 in gauge Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad.
Walt Disney always loved trains. He helped to build a miniature live-steam home railroad, the 1/8th scale Carolwood Pacific Railroad in his backyard located at his estate in Holmby Hills, California. Amidst his railroad, Walt built a barn where he could control the operation of his railroad and served as a workshop and a place for Walt to relax. The Carolwood East Barn museum is a similar replica of “Walt’s Barn". Many of the items in the museum are rare souvenirs from the glory days of Walt’s enterprises. The Central Pasco & Gulf RR system is exactly like the scale designs used for Disney’s railroad. Many of these items belong to Jerry Smithsonian who has loaned them to the museum for display.
The museum is located in Crews Lake Wilderness Park, about 1.5 hours from The Villages. The park covers 113 acres along the shore of Crews Lake. It includes hiking trails, paved bike trail, playground, athletic fields and the 7+1⁄2 in gauge Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad.

A pre-cruise meeting was held on August 18th, 2022 for
the Mickey's Fanatics that are going on the Disney Cruise Ship "Wish" later this year.
The Meeting was hosted by our club president Debbie Winters who introduced our travel agent Shirley Karzen. Shirley gave us some information about the upcoming cruise and answered questions.
As you can see from the attached pictures, Debbie is excited to introduce her new fun idea for better pictures at our club meetings. Debbie has purchased photo backdrops to enhance our photos of members. The first one is a Frozen theme and the second one is Halloween. Look for the photo setups in upcoming meetings !

Today March 25th was chalking day at Stanton-Weirsdale Elementary. Students received a chalking class from Disney chalk artist, Leigh Alfredson. Future artists?!

The Mickey's Fanatics club met in Disney Springs at The City Works Restaurant on August 4th 2021, for a talk and slide presentation by Chris Weck, Art Director for Walt Disney Imagineering. The talk was about the Imagineering of Disney Springs. You can see the slide show in the photos in this post. After the presentation we had a wonderful buffet lunch. Debbie Winters then gave us an update on future Mickey's Fanatics events and pulled some tickets for door prizes......It was an excellent event and even the rain held off.....perfect morning.
